IHPP-SDG Move-PSDS, Thammasat University, jointly organized “Thailand Sustainable Development Forum 2023”

December 21, 2023 – The International Health Policy Program (IHPP) of the Ministry of Public Health, together with Centre for SDG Research and Support (SDG Move), Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University, Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies, Thammasat University, and the funding agency from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, jointly organized “Thailand Sustainable Development Forum 2023” at the Centra by Centara, Government Complex Chaengwattana, Bangkok.

Thailand Sustainable Development Forum was organized as a mechanism for integrating the creation and management of cross-sectoral transdisciplinary knowledge and linking SDG knowledge in society. The forum has been conducted continuously since 2021. In the first year, it focused on SDG Transformations and published the “Thailand Sustainable Development Report: Perspectives from the 2021 Thailand Sustainable Development Forum”.

The highlights of the event included the launch of the “Thailand Sustainable Development Report: Perspectives from the 2023 Thailand Sustainable Development Forum” and the book titled “Community Journeys: 5 Learning Areas and Sustainable Development” by Dr. Angkana Lekagul, Head of the One Health and Sustainable Development Unit, and Dr. Nuttavikhom Phanthuwongpakdee, Deputy Director of the Centre for SDG Research and Support (SDG Move).

Participants also heard a public seminar on the topic of “Driving Local-level Work for Sustainable Development in Thailand: The First Batch of SDG Learning Areas” by representatives of the selected areas:

  1. Wongsanit Ashram, Nakhon Nayok province
  2. Baan Mankong “Secure Housing” Chum Phae, Khon Kaen Province
  3. Baan Nayo’s Khao Mao Production Community, Sakon Nakhon Province
  4. Chiang Khong Sustainability Community, Chiang Rai Province
  5. Ban Hat Somboon Blue Crab Bank, Surat Thani province
